YAG Fiber Laser Etching

Using a unique wave length of light, the YAG laser process has remarkable effects on brass, pewter, acrylic, plastic and other materials. With our nd:YAG lasers, Laser Magic can mark most types of metals. On stainless steel, three types of marks can be achieved.

  • Marks that are the color of the material to a depth of .001 to .0015 inches
  • Dark color marks on stainless steel
  • Dirty color marks on stainless steel

Fiber Optic Laser Etching

Fiber optic laser introduces a new level of reliability, as fiber optic lasers exhibit high vibration stability, extended lifetime over Nd:YAG lasers, a near maintenance-free day to day operation, and a compact size when compared to rod or gas lasers of comparable power.

In particular the fiber optic laser excels at marking plastics with unrivaled beam quality and stability, it has proven especially proficient at removing highly reflective coatings from delicate substrates, and has caught the attention of medical part manufactures as a preferred method of laser marking their product.
